Tom Tiffany

Running For Governor of Wisconsin in 2026

Tiffany Targets 400-Year Veto as Centerpiece of Property Tax Plan

Tom Tiffany is making a day-one pledge which he says will lower property taxes in Wisconsin.

Tiffany has announced his plan to lower rising property taxes across the state, and said the first step is cancelling Gov. Tony Evers’ 400-year school funding order.

“My plan repeals the 400-year property tax hike, lowers taxes for every homeowner, and gives Wisconsinites the certainty they deserve by ensuring property taxes cannot be raised when I am governor,” Tiffany said. “It’s time to make Wisconsin a place where seniors can afford to stay in their homes, young couples can start a family, and the next generation can build their future right here at home.”

Tiffany has promised to also freeze property taxes in the state, and look to work with local governments and schools to address their needs without forcing them to go back to taxpayers.

For too long, state leaders and the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) have protected educators accused of sexual misconduct.

-Last October, it was revealed that DPI shielded more than 200 cases of teacher sexual misconduct and grooming from the public between 2018 and 2023.

-Earlier this week, it was revealed that a former Sun Prairie teacher avoided a sexual harassment investigation by resigning and later taught at two other Wisconsin schools.

-Yesterday, victims filed a lawsuit alleging that at least eight teachers groomed or abused 14 students over a nearly 20-year period at Oconto Falls High School.

As governor, I will ensure full investigations are conducted and order a full audit of DPI to review how it handles grooming and misconduct allegations. I will also ensure DPI maintains and regularly updates a public dashboard showing exactly why licenses are revoked or surrendered so predators cannot move to another school.

Students, parents, and victims deserve a transparent system that keeps predators out of the classroom and holds schools accountable for protecting kids.

I know many of you are shocked by your utility bills, with some reporting bills over $300 compared to previous months. So how did we get here?

Under Governor Evers’ PSC appointees, $2.2 billion in utility rate hikes have been approved, which is 71% of what utilities requested.

Under Governor Scott Walker’s PSC, $300.1 million was approved, which is about 25% of what was requested.

Wisconsin needs a governor who will once again stop rubber-stamping rate hikes at your expense. I will put ratepayers first and hold the PSC accountable.

I’ve fought in Congress to stop industrial-scale wind and solar from destroying our beautiful Wisconsin farmland.

As governor, I will also ensure we do not subsidize industrial-scale data centers on our farmland.

Wisconsin’s farmland and food supply must be protected.

I want to thank you for the support I have received since launching my campaign for governor. A few of my plans as governor include:

-Ending the 400-year property tax hike and lowering property taxes.

-Lowering utility rates by supporting reliable, affordable energy, keeping power plants open, and embracing nuclear energy.

-Stopping the subsidization of industrial-scale solar, wind, and data center development on our beautiful farmland.

-Eliminating the state income tax on tips and overtime.

-Cutting red tape so building a home, starting a business, or running a daycare is more affordable.

-Holding the education system accountable after years of decline under the current administration so the next generation can succeed.

I will be rolling out more plans in the coming months, and I look forward to earning your vote. I truly believe Wisconsin’s best days are ahead, but it will take a change in leadership to get us there. I hope you will join me in this fight for our state’s future.
